Tips for a good Test

  • Allow athletes ample time to warm up before taking the test.
  • It is adviseable to take the test under good conditions. Do not take the test on slippery surfaces or windy days or any other outside influence that will skew the results.
  • Because you will be gathering before and after results you must ensure duplicateable conditions. For example, don't take the test on grass the first time then a hard court the second time.  Don't use cleats the first time then flat shoes the second. Each time you take the test duplicate the conditions as much as possible.

How to do the Illinois Agility Test

  1. The athlete starts laying flat on their stomach with the head toward the start.
  2. Start on "go".
  3. The athlete will then run the course as outlined as fast as possible.
  4. The trial is complete when the athlete crosses the finish line.
