Soccer Striker
One size fits all? I don't think so. The soccer striker comes in all shapes and sizes. Jan Koller, for example, from the czech republic is 6 feet 7 inches tall. That's basketball height if you ask me.
The striker (or forward) is put into different situations throughout the game to score the ball. My beliefe is that the better striker can take advantage of these situations and score the ball. This might be with their back to goal, in air, or a low line drive cross.
Another skill is the ability to do good things with your back to goal. This does not mean you will score the ball everytime with your back to goal. It can allow you to assist others and score the ball. But playing with your back to the goal is just one of the mulitple skills required to play striker.
You need to be able to pass, control the ball under pressure, score, move without the ball, play selfish and play unselfish by knowing the right time to shoot and the right time to assist your teammate.
