Soccer Fitness Training
Soccer moves used for penetration are direct and must be performed at pace to leave a defender beaten.
Common forms of soccer move to penetrate include the step over or the elastica. The key to both moves is a quick change of direction and speed, after selling the defender that you are going in the other direction. For the step over you should step over the ball with your right foot in the direction away from your body. Then plant your foot selling to the defender you are going in that direction. Complete the move by switching your weight and tapping the ball away past the defender on the left hand side.
The elastica was pioneered by Brazil national team star Ronaldinho. To perform the elastico drag the ball away from your body using the outside of your right foot, before quickly rolling your foot over the ball and accelerating away in the other direction. The video below illustrates ROnaldinho performing this skill in a game for Barcelona;
