Soccer Dribbling

Watch players like Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo and you stand in awe at how well they are able to control the ball with their feet.

Do you think they were born with the ability to control the ball with their feet like that or did it take a lot of hard work?  Probably a bit of both.  But I think mostly they worked hard to develop the ability to dribble the soccer ball with fluidity weaving in and out of opponents and creating great scoring opportunities for themselves or teammates.

In this section we are going to teach you about dribbling and how to develop this skill because both you and I know that dribbling "IS" one of the fundamentals of soccer.  Now lets be clear,  all types of dribbling are not fundamental.  Young players who admire and want to be like Ronaldo and Messi might spend the majority of their time practicing moves they see those two world players of the year doing on the field.  Unfortunately, when you do this you forget all the hard work they put in to get there and that they are pros.  If you too want to become a pro, master the fundamentals first then practice more advanced moves.  If you are unsure what the fundamentals are and if you should be practices those or the advanced stuff ask your coach.
